The sugar OS did not work out as planned, because for some reason the keyboard on my laptop did not match that of the laptop per child initiative. Depressing, but not unfixable. I guess the only thing left to do is continue to search for an iso that is already modified. Blah. Chorus cut short today’s interning as well.

There was no Goshorn, and so the intern was quite confused and did not know what to do. Fortunately, he grabbed a hold of stereoscopic images and went to town. When first viewed, this images look like identical pictures side by side. But when the viewer crosses his eyes, it becomes 3d! Well, it blew my mind. Here’s a sample:

Tomorrow was another complete failure. It seems that either I incorrectly edited the files needed in the iso, or I selected the wrong iso to burn to the cd, or service pack 3 simply does not allow usb installation. Either way, I will search for an install cd with only service pack 1 installed, so that I can follow the directions outlined in the directions to a “t”.

That will start today, if I can find an install cd. Blah. This is quite depressing. Three failures in a row. WELL! Jefferson didn’t give up on his third tri, soooo. Let’s go.

Today, I managed to begin the USB thingamajigger. For seriously, my downloaded copy of the install disk actually worked! It has the usbehci.sys file I needed, soooo. Woot.

So I guess the whole intern project will have to be further delayed as Goshorn is out at some weird thing. Anyway, For today and tomorrow yesterday and today I will be creating magnetic poetry! As much of a pain as it is, I believe that this will be quite enjoyable. Though I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish today…

Today is the day. That I do nothing apparently. The laptop is currently being held hostage by the librarian, and there is nothing I can do about it for now. I moved my…special file…to the D Drive, just in case of a restart, but I’m feeling secure. Tomorrow will have to be the day of truth, when I start editing. Here’s to hoping usbehci.sys will be here!

Er, Friday that is. Totally failed with the boot disk. So instead, I have successfully found a copy of XP professional with SP3. This should remedy the problem with usbehci.sys, and thus work! But that is for tomorrow.

Whilst I injected INF files into ISOs, Goshorn fooled around with this dancing purple book.

I am once again attempting to create this freaking flash drive! Okay. I realized last time that I was missing a usbehci.sy_ file, but I neglected that step because I was silly. I now know that that was probably the problem with my install cd. Anyway, I downloaded a copy of usbehci.sys and made a cabinet file for it to inject back into the ISO. Blaah. Today was nothing. All period Goshorn writhed around worrying about what to delete on his ridiculously small hard drive in order to render a video for a teacher’s accredidation thingamajigger. So while he did this I continued on my quest to make the world a better place via a windows installed flash drive. I finally managed to slipstream my install disk using the instructions provided at the BartPE website, and will again work on this tommorow. Unfortunately Thursday night is redo everything night, so I will have to be diligent this week in achieving my goal as Technology Assistant. Yay!
